Heating up Inside the Sunbeam Electric Blanket

I have been a fan of electric blankets for a long, long time. I remember using them ever since I was young; I wasn't even married yet! By that time, although I always was very delicate to cold, there were times when I could do without an electric blanket. Nowadays, as years have passed and as I am approaching to an older age, I would prefer eating nothing all day rather than sleeping without my Sunbeam electric blanket! Yes, I'm both shy and proud to admit it but the truth is that I am addicted to my electric blanket!

Sunbeam electric blanket has a very special feature; it is equipped with special sensors that will detect cold parts of your body and will instruct the blanket to heat them immediately!

The blanket heats up very fast. Most of the times it will only take a few minutes for you to start feeling warmer than little birds inside their nest! Honestly, Sunbeam electric blanket will warm up a lot faster than you might have been used to with other electric blankets.

The blanket has a soft, extremely friendly, 100% acrylic fabric surface. I bought it in a light, white coloring but you can find it in just about any coloring scheme you would imagine.

One important advantage of this blanket is that you will not feel any wires/elements inside it. Sunbeam electric blanket feels almost exactly like a normal, everyday blanket does. This is achieved through what the manufacturer has named "ThermoFine Warming" technology. Being a simple citizen that I am, I can't really tell you much about how this technology works; what I can tell you however, is that it is really, really effective!

Some final notes now; the blanket comes with a 5 year guarantee and it has passed all the safety checks of course. For a large blanket, you will pay something close to 80 bucks; you can always get smaller sizes for less money. If you want to clean your blanket, there's nothing special you need to do; just clean it like you would clean any other blanket.

I would rate the Sunbeam electric blanket with a full 10/10. No, I'm not an easy to satisfy customer; the truth is that I am very demanding. In the case of Sunbeam electric blanket, I simply believe that this product is more than satisfying.

The Importance of an Emergency Fund

Surviving this economy has been tough for a lot of people. Millions of people have lost their jobs which has contributed to millions of people losing their homes, cars, accustomed lifestyles, and much more. I'm no stranger to job loss as I was laid off from a position back in 2005 as a Buyer from a manufacturing company that experienced a sharp decline in orders which resulted in a massive layoff. I was lucky enough to have found a new job within six months of my layoff and I didn't have to sell off assets to stay afloat. Granted, getting an unemployment check definitely helped but it's a short-term solution to something that may be a long-term situation.

What kept me mentally and monetarily strong during this time was the fact that I put money into an Emergency Fund on a monthly basis in case anything should happen in regards to my job, health, or anything else where I would need money right away without having to charge or borrow which is something I wanted to stay away from. From watching the news and reading magazine articles and books I have seen that the majority of Americans spend what they make and even borrow to live beyond their means. I found this to be startling. I'm well aware that a lot of us like to keep up with the Jones's, charge things we feel we can pay off in the near future, upgrade our homes or purchase a home that may be a little out of our price range but still feel comfortable taking on a little more risk for the benefit of our family and so on, but I had no idea people were such super spenders who have no regard for saving.

I feel a lot of people in these situations felt they could borrow from their 401k's and IRA's if things got tough but why bother? You get hit with taxes and penalties by doing so and you're setting yourself up for failure in regards to your retirement plans. I think 401k's and IRA's are great investments but I would never borrow from them unless I was absolutely desperate, which is not a position I would ever put myself into. Living within your means is very simple and it allows you to save money in an interest bearing account which will allow you to use this money for emergencies. I feel everyone should have both a regular savings account as well as an emergency fund.

The first step is to pick a bank to open up a savings account that you will call your Emergency Fund. You can do an online search to determine what bank is best suited for you. Each bank offers different interest rates and has different benefits so it is important to do your homework before opening an account. I recommend using an online bank such as ING Direct because you can set up your account easily, earn higher interest rates than your typical brick and mortar bank, and it is more difficult to get your money out if you have a craving to buy something on impulse since it usually takes several days to transfer your money from an online bank to your regular brick and mortar bank.

Once you have opened an account with a bank put your savings on auto-pilot. I have been using a personal budget for two years now and I absolutely love it. I know how much money I have to the penny each and every month which allows me to plan accordingly. It is important to know how much money you're bringing in every month as well as your fixed monthly expenses. Once you know how much you have left over you should subtract your variable expenses to figure out how much you have left over each month that can be put into a savings account. Most experts agree that you should always pay yourself first so my suggestion is to come up with a monthly figure or percentage of your take home pay that you want to put in your savings account and set up an auto transfer each month (or paycheck) for this amount. I know a lot of people probably feel more comfortable doing it manually but this can be a big mistake since it makes it easier to spend these funds rather than put them in an Emergency Fund which is not good.

In closing, I know everyone's financial situations are different but this is no excuse for not putting away money in case something happens. Your Emergency Fund should be completely separate from a regular Savings Account and these fund should not be touched unless absolutely necessary. You'll find that by having this money you'll have less stress and learn to become more financially responsible going forward.

Your Family Budget and How to Stick To It

All the experts agree, every family should have a budget regardless of their income and savings. A budget shows you how much money you have coming into the household and how much of that goes out every month for necessities and entertainment. Most people think of the necessities, but don't consider the money they are spending on fast food, Starbucks and on impulse purchases.

Your necessities generally include housing, food, utilities, insurance, transportation and health care. Once these payments are made, what's left over is your discretionary spending amount for entertainment and other "extras". These funds are available to you for short-term expenses or long-term investments, like education and your retirement fund.

While the children are growing, you're spending more on necessities and there might not be much left over. It's easy to overlook the fact that just 5% of your income can be a healthy start on an education or retirement fund. Extra income such as a bonus or half the amount of a raise, will make your savings grow quickly. Since they are not in your budget to start, they won't be missed and you'll still have a portion of this extra income to add to your budget.

It's a good idea to consider financial counseling from a professional or at your bank. They are often the best sources for learning how to stretch your dollars into savings and the future benefits they can earn for you.

Once you establish a budget, you have to address impulse purchases. Most people spend small amounts of money on extra items that are not absolutely necessary. You can easily determine where these small amounts are spent by recording every penny spent, everyday for a week. Like most people, you'll be surprised how much the small amounts end up being when accumulated over time.

The most common place for impulse spending is at the grocery store. Establish a family rule never to go to the grocery store when hungry. Shopping when you're hungry usually results in buying items you normally would not purchase. Always go shopping with a list and your saved coupons. Don't give into the need to give yourself a treat or to satisfy a craving. If it's not on your list, don't buy it.

Manage your shopping list by including treats the whole family can enjoy. This includes food treats and also entertainment like going to the movies, out to dinner or even renting a movie. Once you know you have included these items into your weekly shopping list and budget, you will be less likely to make an impulse purchase.

The best rule to follow when you're tempted with an impulse purchase is to ask yourself if you really need it. Don't rationalize the purchase; if you can't immediately answer "yes", then most probably you don't need it and should keep on walking.

Here's a list of the easiest ways to save money when creating your budget:

- Off-brand products - You can use coupons, but you actually save more by purchasing off-brand. Most people don't realize that off-brand products are usually a name brand that is being sold with the store label. Most taste the same, except perhaps specific taste products like mayonnaise.

- Make your lunch - This can be a huge savings just for one person. If you normally spend $6.00 at lunch, at the end of the week, you've spent $30.00. By taking your lunch to work, you potentially save $127 a month that could go to savings or other expenses.

- Drink water - Soft drinks and other designer drinks really aren't good for you. You'd save a lot and make your body happy by drinking water.

- Plan meals - Before going grocery shopping, plan your meals for the week and make a list. Be sure to include your treats and do not deviate from your list while shopping.

- Satellite and cable - The least expensive package can run from $40 - $45 per month. Your annual bill would be up to $540. Eliminate this one expense and you could be saving that amount every year.

- Video rentals - Limit your rentals to one or two every other week. If you find other movies you must have, write it on your movie list and rent it the next time out. Renting too many movies at one time is a money waster.

- Return rentals early - Movie rental fees add up quickly. Make a note of the due date of the movies you rent and ensure you return them early or on time.

Bowflex Revolution For Sale - How to Get a Bowflex Deal

If you're looking for a Bowflex Revolution for sale, there are a couple things to consider before making a purchase. Here are a couple tips to make your decision with ease.

#1. Buy A Bowflex Revolution If ...

o You don't have time to workout at a gym or if you like the convenience of working out at home.

o If you like the muscle-building versatility of 100 exercises and 400 variations.

o If your primary fitness goal is to build lean muscle and stay conditioned.

o If you have space for a home gym; the Revolution weighs over 200lbs.

#2. Buying A New Bowflex Revolution ... Buying a new Bowflex Revolution has it's own advantages. The biggest one is that you have the comfort and protection of 10-year warranty on parts and labor. Since you'll be working out a on a regular basis your Bowflex will be subject to natural wear and tear. Having a warranty will protect your investment and save you money from potential repairs.

#3. Buying A Used Bowflex Revolution ... For shoppers on a budget, buying a used Bowflex Revolution is an attractive option. The biggest advantage is the money you will save on a used or refurbished machine. One of the most popular places to look is Craigslist directly from an owner. I've had good luck with this service and here a couple tips. Have the seller send you some pics before you come over to check it out to save you some time. Have a list of questions ready before you speak with him/her on the phone and stay away from anyone who is too pushy. I've had a lot of success this way. The only downfall of buying used is you don't have the protection of a warranty if something goes wrong.

Reading lots of books and articles about how to
become millionaire, I discover that most of the
millionaires are preparing budget to control
their cashflow.

Even I know how to prepare a budget for my daily
spending and know how budget is so important to
control my money, I do not like to prepare budget!

I just do not like to prepare a lot of paper work
just for controlling my expenses.

Yes, there are lots of software that I can use
to prepare my budget, but to me, it still requires
me lots of time and work to prepare budget.

However, if I want to become a millionaire, how should
I control my money without prepare budget?

This question comes in my mind quite a period, and
finally find out how to control my money.

Answer is simple.

What I do is just ready 100 bucks for one week
expenses. In other words, every week I can only
spend 100 bucks.

This trick is simple and everyone can apply
immediately. In one week, I can spend this 100
bucks to buy everything I like, to eat and use for
any expense, as long as I don't over spend this
hundred bucks.

After I apply this simple trick, now I don't have
to prepare any more paperwork and at the same
time, I can control my cashflow without over
spending.

But, sometimes I still cannot control my spending
for hundred bucks in one week. This is mainly due
to some emergency cases.

For this reason, I set up another limit, there is
every month when I receive my monthly salary or
other incomes, I will transfer part of my money
into another saving account.

The main purpose of this saving account is I only
can use the money from this account for my monthly
spending.

This is my simple way to control my cashflow.

If you like me, who want to control your money
but lazy to prepare your own budget, then these
two simple tricks could help you control your
money without prepare any budget.

Since the introduction of varied models in the market, they have only tasted success. In the due course of this article, we shall be looking into some of the models and the technologies that are incorporated in these models. People who love the taste of perfect home decor always chose Minka ceiling fans. The group is known to have an assortment of fans and the models that are available from them are largely varied in nature.

Ceiling fans now come with remote controls. Minka ceiling fans also posses the same feature. The major functions concerning the fan and lighting (if equipped) can be controlled with the help of these remotes. The fan has been programmed to rotate in clockwise and counter-clockwise directions depending upon your need to cool or warm up the room. Most of the models can be integrated with lights. In fact, some of the models can be custom manufactured according to the components chosen by you. For example, you are given to the option to choose the medallion and the glass design for the fan and upon ordering the fan will be custom manufactured. Fisher-Price Precious Planets Play Yard Review

The Fisher-Price Precious Planets Play Yard made me a "Supermom". Having two kids while working is pretty hard, isn't it? It's a good thing that I have this product. I can cook, do the laundry and at the same time take care of my babies without worrying. I am a single mom and have a home-based job. It's hard for me to go to the office and leave my kids, until I got my job and be able to take care of my kids personally.

As a mom, I make sure that my kids are always safe. I have a one year old and 10 months old, I'm really having a hard time feeding them and make them go to sleep until I found out about this play yard in the internet. I decided to avail it because my kids are using the old one and it never fits them well and I am afraid to find them crawling and crying on the floor because their yard is broken.

The fisher-Price yard has an animal inspired theme my kids really enjoy. You can see colorful animal prints around the play yard and three cute toys to keep them busy. The play yard itself has a playful atmosphere. It also includes a bassinet that you can use whether at home or   on the go. Organizers are built in so you don't need to reach far for your supplies; it's so big that you can even put your personal things on it.

The amazing part of it is its two wheels which will enable you to drag it wherever you want, you can place it inside your room, in your garden, or simply at your kid's room, it's that easy. A carrying bag is also included in the whole set. Being practical is a must! You can never compromise "quality and convenience". It is very much fulfilling to do your job at home and take care of your kids without worrying. Amazingly, I just found myself at peace with the help of Fisher-Price Precious Planets Play Yard.

Things to Look Out For When Using Online Coupons

Using online coupons is a great way to save money. However, if you do not know what you are doing, you may find yourself signing up for things that you do not want or simply spending more money than you intended. There are things to look out for when using online coupons.

The first thing you should keep in mind is to never pay for online coupons. Any sites that ask for payment for coupon codes should be strictly avoided. Most sites will offer coupons and online discounts for a simple registration. If however, a coupon site is asking for credit card information and payment for a coupon, then you may be better off finding another site.

Another thing to keep in mind is the reputation of the coupon website. You should never have to give personal information to gain a coupon discount code. If a website is attempting to get more information than you feel comfortable in giving, then you should probably head somewhere else. Use sites that are recommended by friends and family or that you have heard good things about in the past.

When you are searching through coupon codes on a website, watch out for those that are for stores that you have never heard about. If a coupon website is offering coupons for unknown stores, then they may not be legitimate. Also, watch out for those "too good to be true" discounts.

No legitimate coupon site is going to offer you a deal that is simply too incredible to believe. Only use coupons for stores that you are familiar with and never attempt to use a coupon that is simply an unbelievable deal. It is very possible to save money with coupon and discount websites. However, if you are not careful about which websites you visit, you could end up costing yourself more in the end. Always use caution and check coupon sites for legitimacy and reputation.

Discount Fabrics and the Savvy Shopper

When visiting a comprehensive fabrics store, it is, at first glance, somewhat overwhelming. All you can see is a sea of fabric, maybe, even an ocean of fabric.

Where to start, Oh where to start?

Apart from the choice of apparel or home furnishing fabrics, you need to know how the fabrics ended up in the store. Fabrics are, to some extent, fashion items and sometimes seasonal. The apparel fabrics are more seasonal and volatile than home furnishing fabrics. A lot of apparel fabrics are timeless in some basic colours but mills cannot go to market with those 5 or ten basic colours. Along the way, we get the new season colours, trial runs and short runs are produced. So, what happens to all the stock that is not picked up for general distribution once introduced? They end up being sold off at a discount.

Fabric is being checked for flaws and printing defects. Some mills accept 5 weaving flaws for a roll of fabric to be categorized as 'first' quality. Depending on the nature of the flaw, a roll of fabric may contain more than this arbitrary number. As a matter of judgment, these rolls can be called 'useable seconds' they end up being sold at a discount.

Printed and dyed fabrics may go through the colouring process and end up looking different from the 'master' sample. There is nothing, from a durability standpoint, wrong with these goods. They just don't match the original. They get sold at a discount.

Printed fabrics are often produced in, up to, 20 different colour ways. However nice the pattern is, it will not sell in all twenty colours. A mill is lucky if 20% of the colours sell well. So what happens to the other 80%? Ah, yes, it gets sold off at a discount!

For a print run to be economical from a production standpoint, the mill needs to commit more than 3000 yards of a colour way. Some of this won't sell out. Oops!, we thought we could sell 3000 yards. Now the rest has to be sold off at a discount.

Now you see where some of the discounted fabrics come from. Most of this is not bad-after all, everything has a price. When you see a roll of fabric in a discount fabric store, the main thing to watch out for is weaving flaws and printing defects. What does it matter if it doesn't match the original 'strike off' or is last season's colour, just as long as it is good for your application? If you have to buy extra fabric to cut around flaws, it has to be a really good price before it is worth it. Be sure to get enough, because, in all likelihood, you won't be able to go back to the store for more.

What is there after 'discount'- it gets sold by the pound or kilo, shredded and reclaimed. Here the content label will say '100% unknown fibre' 100% unknown fibre does not mean shredded or reclaimed, it just means mixed fibres in variable proportions.

Tips For Saving Money on Your Groceries

The price of food is increasing at a far greater rate than inflation. This has impacted in some way on most families, whether it has left them struggling to afford to feed the children or simply reduced the amount of disposable income they enjoy. Here are a few basic tips you can follow to save money on your grocery shopping.

o Before you do your weekly shop, write a meal plan for the week. Don't forget to take breakfast and lunch into account. Doing this will help you when you write your shopping list, as you will only be purchasing items you will use and there will be less waste.

o Buy more frozen vegetables and fruit. It always tastes fresh and you'll be throwing less away as it wont go off. Alternatively, if it is an option in your area, buy your fresh produce from a market or greengrocers as this can sometimes be cheaper. Vegetable boxes (check online for companies that deliver in your region) can also be more economical than buying in a supermarket, as long as you don't mind being limited to seasonal items.

o Have at least one vegetarian meal a week as cutting down on the meat you buy will significantly reduce your grocery bills. Vegetable stews, homemade lasagnes and curries are all cheap and you can freeze the leftovers. If someone in your household doesn't believe a meal is a proper meal without a bit of meat, there are some good meat alternatives such as veggie mince and chicken style pieces. Try them at least once, you never know you may enjoy them!

o Alternatively, just use less meat in your cooking and bulk it out with more vegetables or pulses. It will be healthier for you too!

o If you really are on a tight budget, have one night a week where you eat a cheap meal, such as a cheese omelet, or you have leftovers from the freezer.

Being savvy with your food shopping will help stretch the pennies a bit further.

Personal Budget Programs

Do you have financial problems? Then a budget is the answer if you are tired of wondering where your income went. A budget is the answer, if you don't have savings. A budget is also the only solution to getting out of credit card debt.

You can purchase a 6-column ledger or use an electronic ledger in recording your expenses and income. Or purchase budget software. While an electronic ledger (like Excel) functions by keeping your financial records and doing your computations, budget software programs will do much more.

Here are several features your budget software should have, to effectively help you keep track of expenditures and record your savings.

1. The budget software should with a worksheet, show you where your funds go, and provide you with the exact amount of your current financial situation.

2. The budget software should have in addition to the more common ledger title columns, make available the option for you to create your own personalized account titles. This makes it more accurate, and enables you to keep track of daily expenses, of your saving accounts, payments for insurance, auto, utilities payments and even entertainment expenses.

3. The budget software should allow you to compare the financial differences between the budget you set against actual expenditures. It would be great if this feature were accompanied by a reminder feature that tells you, you're overspending.

4. The budget software should provide you the option of creating and tracking individual accounts, should you wish to set one for you and your spouse, or your children. You can use this to monitor each child's expenses.

5. The worksheet visuals of the budget software should be easy to understand.

6. Usage of the budget software must be user friendly and have help menus that are built in the program.

After you've read the company brochures, and spoken to the sales staff, request for a demonstration. Personally test the budget software, to make certain you have ease of use. Ask the company they provide product updates at discounted prices.

Make sure that the budget software vendor have an efficient customer support and after sales services. Request for list of their clients and talk with these people. Ask to be sure that you can reach them on the net, by phone and email. List their physical address, should you need to drive by their shop.

You need to be honest, committed and disciplined in making and keeping a budget. If you do, you'll be able to get the most out of your income in spending along with saving wisely.

Save Every Dollar Saved At The Supermarket And Watch Your Wealth Grow

Firstly know your prices, just because the advertisement says it is on special, doesn't necessarily mean you are going to be saving a lot of money. So if you know the approximate prices of the items that you purchase regularly, you will know when they are really on special and you are going to save money, naturally this is the time to stock up.

Another important tip is never go to do the weekly grocery shopping when you are hungry, the temptations are far greater and much more difficult to resist.

It can be a really difficult and a test of your ability to resist, not to buy every appetizing thing in sight on your weekly visit to your local supermarket. Big tip, don't go shopping at meal time, you will buy even more. Even the most disciplined shopper can lose their financial cool at the grocery store, particularly if you are hungry. The trouble is we have plenty or will power, but not enough won't power.

Look to see if the same item is available as the generic brand? Sometimes you can save more on your bill by buying the no name brands. Make sure you do your price comparison before buying the name brand item. No name brand items are usually just as good and in some cases even better. Often the no name brands are made in exactly the same factories, they just hire them out at night and swap the labelling. Buying the store brand is an easy and effortless way to save money on a regular basis.

Save money, by buying in bulk if you are able too. If you have the space and money to buy in bulk, this can be a great way to save money on your grocery bill. Be sure you are buying things you and your family will actually need and use before the expiry date. Of course, there are certain products that all of us can stock up on safely and know that it will be utilised and not go off. Items such as toilet paper, soap and other essentials are safe bets when it comes to buying in bulk.

Consider, making up your own small buying group amongst your friends, if you can buy in bulk as a small group the savings can be astounding. Consider a co-op membership or your bulk wholesale store. A co-op membership entitles you to access to a wide variety of natural products as well as local organic produce. When you pay your member fees, you are effectively buying into the co-op and becoming partial owner.

Overall, gain a little respect for your money, we probably have all been guilty of wasting it at times, so watch it a little more carefully, maybe even invest the savings that you make if your budget allows, put the savings in a separate account that you don't touch, that is purely for investment.

Tips For Cutting Your Monthly Grocery Bill

If you are looking for a way to cut back spending, then you need to follow these tips for cutting your monthly grocery bill. There are several simple things that can be done in order to cost costs and help you save money.

Many people don't think about the small changes that can be made, because a few dollars here and there doesn't seem like much. But, if you consider the possibilities of the long-term savings, these tips can really help you to save quite a bit of money in the long run!

5 Tips for Cutting Your Monthly Grocery Bill:

1. Plan ahead. Take 10 minutes to plan your grocery shopping trip BEFORE you leave the house. This planning will help you to avoid impulse buys, which will help you to keep your grocery bill lower. Think about this: if you purchase 5 extra impulse items each week that average $2 each, you are spending an extra $40 a month... which equals $480 each year!

2. Always go grocery shopping with a full stomach. Shopping with a full stomach will help you to avoid impulse buys because of hunger, and they will also help you to avoid stopping at the fast food restaurant on the way home. If you don't have time to eat before you leave the house, take a snack to eat in the car so that you are not starving as you are shopping.

3. Plan your menus around the sale items for the week. You will get the grocery ads in the mail each week, use those ads to decide what menus you will be serving for the week. Planning your meals around the sale prices will help to keep the overall food budget lower.

4. Stock up on grocery items when they are on sale. If there is something that you use on a regular basis, watch for the sales and stock up on that item when it is on sale. This will allow you to avoid paying full price for that product. Also, watch for the marked-down items in the back of the store or on the clearance rack.

5. Use grocery coupons. Combine the coupons with the sale prices, and you will maximize your savings even more. You can locate coupons in the newspaper, mail, in the stores, and online.

These tips for cutting your monthly grocery bill are easy to follow and they really don't take much time, but the savings can really add up throughout the year! Trimming your shopping habits will help you to keep more money in your pocket instead of spending it at the stores.

Home Depot Coupons Tips

Home Depot is one of America's favorite places to shop when it comes down to getting anything hardware, or household related. The reason that I like them so much is solely based on the fact that I usually can find what I'm looking for, and I'm usually rewarded with great customer service. I'm sure most of you can say the same thing, especially if you're reading this article.

Today, I wanted to give you some pointers on how you can find home depot coupons, and how you can save the most on your next purchase. It really isn't that hard to save!

Consider your competitors - Yes, Home Depot will accept competitor coupons. As long as the competitor in their surrounding area, they should be able to accept any coupon that you get. I've done this before countless times, and there's has never been any questions asked. This is a great idea, especially if you can get your hands on a Lowe's 10% off coupon, etc.

Search online - On occasions, you can find printable coupons online, but it's fairly rare. What I generally do is search out a few places that are locally, as well as Home Depot to see what comes up. For example, just a few weeks ago, I found a $25 off coupon, when you spend $100 at a local hardware shop. Since they had what I was looking, I was able to use it, and save money.

The key here is to make sure that think about competitors, and not just the store. By doing this, you're going to increase your odds on finding the deals that you solely want.

Frugal Living in the 21st Century

While you can save a significant amount of money by frugal living, at some point you reach an end. You can live off of the grid, raising your own food and clothing but at some point, there is no more to save. The key to frugal living lies in making your finger water-tight to stop the flow of wasted money. Obvious tips like curbing impulse spending and cutting back on credit card debt help tremendously but there are so many other areas in which cost-cutting can yield big savings.

He's just trying to save money, so it's kinda funny to see how frugal living and green living go hand in hand. Of course, if you drop 30K on solar panels, it doesn't exactly workout that way. Eco-frugal living isn't just a fad, it's a growing necessity for millions of people worldwide. Saving the green in your wallet, and the green outside your window really can, and should go hand in hand. While there are tons of frugal living forums, these are a few you will love. Frugal Living is all about living smarter, and in today's economic climate, we could all do with living smarter in order to make our money last longer!

Frugal living is a lifestyle that involves careful planning and spending as well as avoiding waste. Some people may choose living frugally out of desire and some may incorporate such a lifestyle out of necessity.

According to a new Associated Press Economy Survey, many consumers have been forced to embrace during the recession is one they have no intention of letting go. Based on a survey of leading economists and interviews with "Ordinary Americans," even as the economy improves they have learned their lesson: spend less, save more. While reducing your monthly expenses and managing debt, you are living within your means and practicing this type of living! But there's more money to be found! When most people think of living frugal, they think it means being miserable, or giving up what they want. This is all wrong.

Living Frugal means different things to different people. It's about a simpler, less complicated lifestyle, not about being cheap. Just as with frugal living in general, you need to start looking at what you really need versus what you just want. For example, do you really need that pre-made microwave oven dinner, or can you make (or even pre-make) your own at home?

Instead of asking yourself if you can afford to buy something, ask yourself if the money could be better spent elsewhere. It's not necessarily just about saving, it spending wisely! Arming yourself with a specific list saves time, as you aren't aimlessly wandering the aisles, and saves money, as you only buy what you need for that week!

Frugal living allows you to work less and to spend more time with the people that you care about. Whether you spend that time lounging around with your family or volunteering in your neighborhood, you are spending it well! If you build your own approach to frugal living, with my help and the help of others, you're much more likely to follow it through to success. Good fortune to everyone who sincerely tries to better their financial position and who work "hard and smart" toward a more secure future.

Freshen and clean your carpets with this frugal living tip: sprinkle baking soda over your carpet, and let it soak in for about 10 to 15 minutes. Then, vacuum the soda away.

Learning to Live on Limited Means

Whenever you look for investment plans and other tips to save money online, the suggestions assume that you have a lot of money. Living on unlimited means is quite easy, but what can be challenging is how to live when you have limited funds to spend.

First try to rectify the reasons for having so little money. If it is a result of you being unemployed, then the first thing that you need to do is find a job.

On the other hand, if your personal savings are the best you can do based on your personal situation, then you need to find a way to live through it and make the best of it.

Prepare your budgets carefully, keeping your needs and bank balance in mind. Don't over-budget thinking that you would be able to make up for a loss next month. Wait to purchase things until you can actually afford them.

When you prepare a shopping list, ensure that you make a list of only those things that you need and not things that you want. Differentiating between the two is important and necessary for you to maintain discipline.

Try to find generic brands of items that you need. Generic brands are generally much cheaper, but provide the same quality as any other branded product. This works for various foods, medicines and supplies for your home.

Another habit that you need to maintain is saving. Even if you are able to save several dollars per day and keep that aside, your account would grow over time and give you a sizable amount. This amount can be saved to be used on a rainy day.

Another important thing is to keep as far away from credit cards and loans as possible. These can spoil your budget and make you worse off.

Anti Consumerism is the New Rich

The Case for Anti Consumerism

I saw an expert on TV who claimed that we would need four planet Earths in order to sustain the whole world at the level the US consumes good. Of course, this is his estimate, and there is no way to prove or disprove it. But it has to make us sit back and think about the resources we consume, and if there is a way to cut back.

We need to conserve resources for multiple reasons. Our first thoughts may be about recycling and creating a sustainable economy that future generations will enjoy. But most of us could look inside our own homes and find a lot of waste. If you are having trouble sticking to your budget, saving money, or even paying all your bills, anti consumerism may be something to consider.

What is Consumerism?

This is the term that is used to describe an attitude that material possessions will make us happy. It may also be used to describe the effects that our market based economy has on individual people. So consumerism, as displayed on any number of TV or internet ads, tells us that what we buy and consumer will make us happier, more social, and better looking.

But is this true. Do we need to drink a certain soft drink to satisfy our thirst when water will do? Will people respect us more if we drive a specific car, buy a famous brand of clothes, or live in a big house? Maybe they will, but that may because they are simply being influenced by our consumer culture as well.

Examples of Consumerism

I did not own a cell phone for the first 4 decades of my life. Now I have owned cell phones for about a decade. If I leave the house without my cell phone, I feel anxious. So how could I have left my house for the first 40 years of my life without worrying about it?

There is no doubt that my cell phone makes my life more convenient, and it may make me a bit safer. But I doubt that conditions have changed so much that I could survive without it. And at first, a basic cell phone was fine so I could have it for emergencies. But now the new 3G phone ads are catching my attention. I have this urge to keep up the latest technology even though it will cost even more because I will need to pay for broadband access.

I keep reminding myself that I already pay for cable internet at home. I really do not need to be online 24 hours a day.

And in the past, our family only had one phone bill. Now everybody in my home has a phone. Instead of worrying about one phone bill, I have 4! I am spending money on something that seems needed, but that I could live without very well a few years ago.

Examples of Anti Consumerism

Let us argue that buying a basic cell phone may be a good idea. And we could even argue that everybody in my family should have one. It seems like a reasonable purchase to make our lives more convenient and safer.

An anti consumerist might accept this. But they would say that we did not need the latest and most expensive device on the market, but should only purchase the minimum to satisfy our needs.

Your Budget

Maybe it is time to really sit down and evaluate your own budget through the eyes of an anti consumerist. Do you need a gym membership you seldom use when you could exercise by walking or planting a garden that could also provide you with fresh produce? The cost of that gym membership should be enough to get your garden started. You can get a great workout by weeding your plot, and you can reap the benefits of fresh fruits and vegetables later.

That was just one example, and the point is not to convince you to give up things you like and use. The point of discussing anti consumerism is to help you evaluate things you spend your money on to see if you could be just as satisfying by saving money.

Easiest Ways to Save Money Include Coupons and Free Facilities

The easiest ways to save money are becoming more important to folks these days...but some methods have always been available... why not use them every day?

Two incidents last weekend bring this to mind. The first was a TV program that showed a single mother of four that was stating how tough it was for her to feed her family. This is a common situation these days. The woman tearfully held up a few coupons and said she was having to use them (coupons) for the first time. Her story was sad but I cringe at all the money she has wasted by not using coupons all along.

Coupons are literally free money. The Wednesday and Sunday paper is treated like money in our house. The newspapers sell the ads to grocery stores, the grocery stores get the coupons from the manufacturers...and the holder of the coupons saves a bundle.

The second incident was overhearing a cell phone conversation in the local library, which we have always utilized. Another woman was complaining how tough it was to make ends meet. "We had to give up the movie channels on cable, and we are going to the library to check out DVDs and books." Why was the woman paying for movie channels when you can check out DVDs free at the library? The DVD selection at the library was extensive.

Both incidents illustrate that the easiest ways to save money is to first use what is available and free for the taking. Coupons and using the library should be a way of life for all folks.

This downturn in the economy will not last forever...it would be nice if habits formed in hard times would be continued in the good times..

5 Meals For $5 By Jaci Rae

The book has a very catchy title for a book on how to save money and still eat plentiful meals. Written by the self-professed "Queen of More Green"-the premise is to show all of us how to feed our family and/or friends for a very little amount of cash-the subtitle of the book is "You Don't Need to be Wealthy to Eat Healthy".

Now I have to say, I'm a VERY good shopper. I'm a budget stretcher from way back, so quite a bit of this edition are steps I've been doing for as long as I've had a driver's license and was handed the job of shopping by my mother-who hates to go into a grocery store.

I am a coupon collector; I never go into a market without them and having combed the ads to see what's on sale to take the most advantage of what I've got in my box of clippings. I also frequent Costco and use the entertainment book to save money on lots of necessary items of all kinds. I use them for movies, dinners out, gifts, haircuts, dry-cleaning (on the rare occasions that I need one) and a host of other things. But I wanted to see if Jaci Rae could teach me anything new.

Most of the book consists of recipes. I love that Rae has included pricing for each ingredient to show how she came up with the total and portions. It's great that she has classified all the recipes into cuisines. They seem to be plentiful, somewhat balanced and varied for all kinds of diets, allergic restrictions and tastes. None of the recipes are difficult to prepare and are very time conscious-in other words, great for today's busy, over-worked family-dubbed cooks.

Where I take exception (sorry Jaci) is her calling the meals healthy. Way too many of the recipes are primarily made with white rice, ramen noodles, tater tots and canned condensed soups. Yes, all of these are very easy and tasty-but healthy? Even the soups that are labeled as "low-salt" and "low-fat" are higher than what normal diets should include on a regular basis. While ramen noodle packages are fun and versatile-they also contain a very high amount of salt and preservatives. The amounts of white rice in some of the recipes are astronomical! Hopefully it was a mis-print on the pre-published copy, but the recipes called for using 5 cups of uncooked rice for 5 people! Whoa Nellie! Once cooked-this is somewhere around 10 cups or more of rice! The amount of protein was usually kept at about 3 ounces a person. Now I'm perfectly okay with a portion that small, but I can only imagine what my son and husband would do when served a piece of chicken or steak that size-and my son's on weight-watchers!

All in all though, Rae's book is a terrific book for families who need to keep to a very lean budget. She gives great tips to stretch a dollar-and again, not just on food. Her recipes are kid and picky-eater friendly-which is another way to stretch a budget. After all, if no one wants to eat the food-it doesn't matter how much you save.

Free Product Samples of Stuff You Really Want will Stretch Your Budget

I am sure that free samples and specials have been around since the first caveman tried to peddle his stone axes in exchange for bear hides or beer. Maybe Oog let his neighbor have one axe for free, and the tool proved so sturdy that soon his neighbor, and all of his neighbor's cousins, came back for more. After that, our talented caveman did not have to give away any more axes, but he benefited from taking a loss on his first few transactions.

Marketers and manufacturers know that consumers love to find a bargain. Its hard to make that first sale to a new customer, but once the shopper has been satisfied with one transaction, it will be much easier to count on that shopper's future loyalty. However, you may think of combing through magazines or newspapers to cut out coupons, or maybe getting little sample packs of shampoo or perfume in the aisle of your favorite store. That can be one way of collecting free samples, rebates, or discounts, but it is hit and miss, and may not be worth your time.

But now the internet makes it simple and convenient to find great offers for products you really want, and whenever you really want them! Many popular websites have been dedicated to posting free offers, coupons, and rebates online, and in periodic newsletters. Webmasters will affiliate themselves with marketing companies, and in return, they will have access to promotions as soon as they are made public. The offers will be posted on websites by category, and can usually be found with a quick search. Every webmaster wants to be the first to offer valuable, brand name products, and so they compete to keep their own websites updated with popular offers.

You may still think that searching for free samples, rebates, and coupons is a waste of time. But consider a sample of current offers that have been posted on our website and newsletter. I think that these offers have a broad appeal to men and women of many different ages.

One brand name beauty supplier offers large, two month product samples for free. You can select wrinkle cream, lip enhancer, and cellulite cream. All you have to pay is the low cost of shipping.

A major software company offers an instant, free download of office programs to promote their brand name. The office software suite includes a spreadsheet, word processor, and more, and it is totally compatible with the number one office software maker. You do not even have to enter any personal information. Simply download, install, and get productive!

One electronics store has discounted prices on some rebated computer accessories so that they end without cost. An online health store gives away bottles of HGH supplements so potential customers can have an opportunity to try them. An online jewelry store actually gives away a choice of sterling silver items.

Enjoy free sample, coupon, and rebate sites. You'll probably feel like a kid in a candy store! You may be able to grab a few luxuries, make yourself more productive, and even, stretch your budget! You could even find some great new products that you want to buy again, or a new favorite online store. Then you, and the advertiser, will be happy!

You may reprint this article as long as you keep the content and author bio intact.

Many, different propaganda have been conceptualized and initiated by notable grocery and department stores just to attract as much people to their establishments. This is because they cater to selling retail and wholesale products to the consuming public. As this has been the usual routine and custom of many people, this is also the reason why this kind of business has been flourishing for many, many years. As the saying goes, business keeps going. Organic Grocery Stores Online

For consumers in small suburbs, it may be difficult to find organic food stores. Farms markets are an option for some people, but they don't always offer organic diary and meat products and most are not open year-round. Shopping for organic food online can be an alternative for those who do not have an organic market in their area or can't find the time to get to one.

The GreenPeople directory which is hosted and funded by the Organic Consumer Association is a good starting point for finding affordable organic foods online. They've earned the title of world's largest directory of eco-friendly and holistic health products. To make shopping easy, the site allows you to search for products by keyword or brand name. Not only do they offer a long list of products available for purchase such as fruits, vegetables, diary products, snacks and baby foods, but they also offer a list of other organic food directories for those who can't find what they're looking for right away. And for those organic food eaters with green friends, there is an automatic email feature that allows the visitor to invite his or her friends to shop for their organic foods online too.

The Organic Kitchen does not sell organic food products directly, but serves as a hub to many other organic cyber stores. The lists can be displayed in alphabetical order by products sold or store name. So, if you know you need organic baby food, click on the "B", for baby food and then choose a store among the many listed selling organic baby food online. The website also offers a list of organic restaurants, places to find recipes and a list of vineyards that offer organic wines.

When cost is not an issue, Diamond Organics offers some of the best organic grocery shopping the web has to offer. They have been in the business of organic food retailing for more than eighteen years and only offer high quality products and produce. There website is easy to navigate and almost all products are available with nationwide overnight home delivery. All Diamond Organic food products are grown in Monterey County which is located on California's central coast.

Buying organic food online can be convenient, but depending on your reasons for eating organic, it's not always practical. Ordering organic food online allows you to reap all the same health benefits as if you had bought the food at a local market, but having it shipped can contribute to your carbon footprint. Most deliveries are made by truck or plane, adding harmful emissions to the environment. If you're worried about your carbon footprint, look for organic food stores that offset there carbon emissions by investing in clean energy or donating to a green cause.

Grocery Costs - Best Ways to Lower the Cost

It is that day of the week. It's grocery day and you know that your grocery costs are way up there. You start to panic every time you think about going to the food store. However, you do not have a choice other than to go because you're almost out of food. I cannot tell you how many times I myself have had the same feelings. They can be overwhelming. Try doing one or all of these ideas. They are sure to help you with your food bill.

Start clipping coupons. I know it is not fun and it can be time consuming. The fact is you can save a bundle of money by clipping those little coupons. If your store has double or triple coupons, they are even better to use. Just think a loaf of bread $2.50 and you have a coupon for $.30. The store has double coupons. You pay $1.90. That is huge savings.
Look at the store flyer. The store flyer will have all of the items on sale for that week. See if you need anything in that flyer. Just for your information, if you need something that is on sale and you have a coupon and your store has double coupons. That could mean you get that item for almost nothing.
Ask the store clerk if they have a markdown section. Most stores have a place where they have their 50% off items. There could be discount because there is a small dent on a can or it could be a loaf of day old bread.

Before to long you will be saving more then you ever thought was possible. Your grocery costs will be something manageable. You might even be able to put some money into the bank.

Grocery Shopping Tips

Before you go to the supermarket, be sure that you do some planning. Write down what you need in the store. Go to your cupboards and pantry and look at what you already have and what is running low. Write down everything on a list. Take an inventory on the coupons that you have for these items that you are about to purchase so that you can get additional discounts and savings.

Selecting the right grocery store to do your shopping is important. Most grocery store offers a selection of frequent shopper programs, double coupon savings, and discounts on bulk shopping and sale items. Buying in bulk will save you more and these products will last longer to prevent periodic visits to the grocery store. There are also products that have different price range to choose from.

Eat before you go shopping. One smell of anything delicious or tasty will get you picking up that item when you are hungry. Everything in the grocery store will look enticing to you if you go to the grocery store in a hungry state.

You can save additional money by using coupons, accessing product incentives offered, and taking advantage of any frequent shopping programs. Your savings can be astronomical when you utilize all the discounts available to you.

Buy store brands. Don't think that store brands are of less quality. Experiment and see if you like them. Store brands cost less and most of them are of good quality. You can save as much as forty percent on your shopping in one year.

Don't go to the store on impulse. Impulse buying will rob you of any discounts that you may have received had you planned your trip. A planned shopping list is better than just walking into the store wandering which isle to begin. You also need to set a budget for your shopping trip and impulse shopping will let you spend more than you bargain for.

Don't be afraid to do comparison shopping because you will be able to determine the real product value when you compare brands and unit price. Take time to look at the label to compare how much you are getting for each product according to its unit price. Check for the expiration date of the products you are buying. Read the label of each product to find out the nutritional value. Don't just buy quantity, but quality.

Pay attention to the scanner at the check out counter. Don't be distracted by the magazines at the check out counter. Keep your eyes on the scanner because nine times out of ten, the cashier will make a mistake and you won't catch it. If an item shows the wrong price, you will be able to let the checker know. You don't want to be overcharged. You also want to watch the person who bags the grocery to make sure that everything you purchase is going into your bags. You don't want to wait until you get home to find out that something you bought did not make it home.

Get Something For Nothing - Get Free Samples Online

When I was a teenager I had a book of free stuff that you could send away for in the mail. I got all sorts of wonderful, useful, and useless stuff. There was a bit of a thrill-expecting things in the mail, not knowing when they would come or exactly what they would look like. This early adventure started me on a lifelong hunt for free and cheap goods. Imagine my delight when I found websites chock full of products I could get for free. This time I don't even need a stamp; just a click and free samples are on their way to me.

It's hard to keep up with all the bargains on the freebie websites. Here are some of the free product samples available to anyone who wants them: magazines, coupons, games, music, clip art, screensavers, solitaire card games, cosmetics, toys, clothes, books, medicine, and -believe it or not-money! The list goes on and on.

Coupons are among the best and most reliable free offers you can find. They are really free money if they are for a product you can use. Just a quick look on a freebie website brings up coupons for iced tea, detergent, body lotion, soap, contact lens solution, water, dog food, beverages, food, light bulbs, and electronics. What an assortment of great stuff!

Contests and sweepstakes give you chances to win a few bucks or lots of money. Opinion surveys are fun to do; they pay couple of dollars plus the chance to win more. For example, taking a short survey enters you into a contest for a big screen TV or a Lexus. Some surveys don't pay anything, but claim to give your valuable information, like whether you will ever be a millionaire or if your house is haunted. Or, maybe you would like to take a free love test or intelligence test.

There's a lot of free educational material out there for the asking. Any school in New York can get a fire safety video at no cost. You can also find worthwhile health information from reputable sources.

Companies that can't afford much advertising or want to test the Internet market can turn to websites that offer free promotions, thereby being able to give more consumers free samples to test.

Some of the offers are too good to be true, and they might have some hitches to them. You do have to use your common sense and be a little careful about who you give your name and address to. Just remember, if it says "free" there is no reason for you to give your credit card information, no matter what the offer says.

Using Microsoft Excel Or Google Spreadsheets to Create a Monthly Budget

Fact: tracking your spending is essential to working your way to financial freedom. Everybody knows that your best defense against financial hardship is simply knowing how much money is coming in vs. how much is going out. You need to make sure you're making more than you're spending.

How?

Well- you can SPEND money to budget on programs like Quicken, Pearbudget, Mint, Mvelopes, or YNAB. Many can provide you with resourceful tools that will help you keep your finances in check; however, you actually have to spend more money to use them! Aren't you creating a budget to save money?

Solution: Use Microsoft Excel or Google Spreadsheets to create a monthly budget for you!

Following are some of the advantages to making Microsoft Excel or Google Spreadsheets your official financial planner:

1. Costs Nothing - Microsoft Excel is a program that most of us own. And if you are one of the rare people that don't have your own copy, don't go out and buy it! You can easily do the exact same thing the an Excel spreadsheet will do with a Google Docs spreadsheet- and that's for free! The fact is a spreadsheet's capabilities can do virtually everything you need them to. Most of your fancy financial software programs will cost you hundreds of dollars in the long run. Seems a little funny that you're going to spend your money on something that is going to save it. Be resourceful; use a spreadsheet.

2. Easy to Set up - Whether you're using Microsoft Excel or Google Spreadsheet, you're not going to have a hard time setting them up. In fact, if you'll just learn a couple of quick formulas, you'll easily be able to make your numbers automatically add up, multiply, subtract, and divide when and where you need them to.

3. Simple - In my experience using financial budgeting software, they just aren't that simple! The first one I ever bought was Quicken, and I found that it did too much. All I needed was something that I could customize to build a budget that worked for me; Quicken complicated things to a point where I didn't even want to use it. It was not user-friendly at all, and that's what I needed when it came to a monthly personal budget. Pearbudget.com and Youneedabudget.com do a pretty good job to keep things simple and if you ever did decide to pay money for a monthly budget, that's what I would recommend; however, using a free spreadsheet will save you the money period, and it's just as simple to use.

4. Fully Customizable - Why not use a budgeting software that enables you to completely customize what you need?! Choose your own colors, categories, sizes, fonts, styles, and structures to fit what you need. After all, everybody is different and one standardized budgeting software isn't going to work for all! Fit your budget to your needs.

In conclusion, my personal recommendation when it comes to organizing your money is either a Microsoft Excel budgeting spreadsheet or a Google Docs Spreadsheet. Don't waste your money on buying budgeting software. You're pocket book will thank you for choosing an alternative route- budgeting for free!
